Working Student / Admin. Assistant for Society Collaboration Team (30-40%)

We serve scholars from around the world to ensure the latest research is openly and broadly available.

We are looking for a motivated and flexible Working Student to join and support our society collaborations team. This position is a part-time and permanent position based in our city centre office in Basel, Switzerland. (immediately or by arrangement).

Key Responsibilities:

  • keeping database and various lists up-to-date and writing monthly activity reports
  • doing online research on scientific/learned societies, scientific journals
  • helping Publishers, Publishing Managers, Managing Editors with the drafting of emails (to contact societies), proposals and agreements
  • helping with the implementation of society collaborations by setting up accounts for societies in our system (SuSy and IOAP accounts)
  • creating discount codes for societies, uploading society information to the journal websites
  • keeping all files (templates, guidelines, presentations, signed agreements, etc.) in order
  • being an internal point of contact for society collaboration related questions

Your profile:

  • you are studying for your Bachelor or Master Degree at Uni Basel
  • excellent written and spoken English skills, other languages are a plus
  • flexibility in terms of working hours (according University schedule)
  • team player with the capability to work in a dynamic, international environment
  • structured, target-oriented and independent approach to work
  • extremely organized, attentive to detail and mindful of deadlines
  • service-oriented, creative and curious mindset
