Internal Communications Specialist (m/f/d) 80-100%

MDPI is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland with additional offices in Europe, Asia and North America. We are committed to ensuring that high-quality research is made available as quickly as possible. We also support sustainability projects, with sustainability as a key theme in many journals and through the MDPI Sustainability Foundation.

For our head office in Basel, we are currently looking for an Internal Communications Specialist (m/f/d) 80-100%. This is a permanent role that can be partially executed remotely.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Create a broad range of communications (articles, newsletter, statements, FAQs etc.) for internal global audiences
  • Build a strong brand among employees that promotes our values and mission
  • Develop and maintain our corporate Intranet and establish new communication channels
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders and departments (HR, Marketing and Executive Assistant) regarding diverse projects
  • Editorial responsibility for internal communication tools
  • Project-based development and implementation of internal communications strategy, including employee engagement communication
  • Establish network of communications ambassadors across our different offices to foster high levels of engagement
  • Development of materials (presentations, print materials, videos, etc.) for internal projects or strategic initiatives
  • Analyze the impact of internal campaigns and report on KPIs


Your Profile:

  • Academic degree in Communication, Cultural Studies or Business Administration or a comparable qualification
  • 3+ years professional experience in communication as well as in the operative business, preferably in an international environment
  • Strong understanding of branding principles and ability to execute brand-building strategies
  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken), other language skills are beneficial
  • Ability to communicate complex information and editorial Know-How
  • Experience in multicultural project teams and service-oriented attitude
  • Good organizational, analytical and prioritization abilities
